Product Description
Concrete pump boom elbows work under different conditions from ordinary straight pipes. As concrete changes direction inside the elbow, aggregates are pushed toward the outer radius, making this area one of the first positions to show concentrated wear.
This lightweight ceramic-lined elbow is designed for DN125 concrete pump boom systems. It combines a steel elbow with an internal wear-resistant ceramic layer and has a listed weight of 10–12 kg, making it suitable for boom-mounted positions where component weight and replacement access both need to be considered.

Designed for Boom-Mounted Wear Positions
A boom pipeline includes several bends that move continuously with the equipment. These elbows must match the existing boom layout while withstanding repeated concrete flow, vibration, and changes in operating position.
The outer radius normally receives the most direct contact from coarse aggregates. If the internal bore is uneven or the adjoining pipes are misaligned, wear may also develop around the connection ends.
The elbow design therefore needs to consider:
Ceramic Wear Layer with Steel Support
The internal ceramic layer protects the surface exposed to abrasive concrete. Its curved shape follows the elbow profile so that the lining can form a comparatively smooth flow path through the bend.
The outer steel elbow provides structural support and carries the mechanical and pressure loads. The ceramic should be treated as the wear-resistant layer rather than the pressure-retaining part of the assembly.
Ceramic thickness can be selected within the available range according to the elbow position and expected wear. The finished bore still needs to match the adjoining pump pipe; simply increasing the ceramic thickness without checking the internal diameter may create an unwanted step at the joint.

Fit and Installation Checks
A replacement boom elbow should not be selected only by its DN125 designation. Different pump truck models may use different bend radii, straight-end lengths, welded-end profiles, and installation orientations.
During installation, the elbow should be positioned in the correct flow direction. The connection should remain concentric, without an exposed steel edge or ceramic projection facing the concrete flow.
Typical Applications
The ceramic-lined boom elbow can be used in:
Suitability depends on the pump model, working pressure, bend geometry, concrete mix, and connection design.
FAQ
Why does a concrete pump elbow wear faster than a straight pipe?
Concrete changes direction inside the elbow, forcing aggregates toward the outer radius. This produces more concentrated sliding and impact wear than in a straight section.
Can this elbow directly replace an existing DN125 elbow?
Not from the nominal size alone. The 133 mm outside diameter, bend angle, radius, straight-end length, finished bore and welded-end profile must also match the existing component.
Does the ceramic lining carry the pumping pressure?
No. The ceramic protects the internal wear surface. Pressure containment depends on the steel elbow, wall thickness, welds and the complete boom-pipe design.
ELACERA manufactures ceramic-lined concrete pump boom elbows according to confirmed dimensions. A drawing or sample can be checked before production to verify the radius, welded ends, and installation orientation.
