Low Carbon Steel Concrete Pump Pipeline with Ceramic Lining
ELACERA ceramic-lined concrete pump pipelines combine a low-carbon seamless steel housing with an internal ceramic wear lining. We can manufacture straight pipes, elbows, and reducers to match the required pipeline arrangement.
The steel housing provides structural support. The ceramic protects the internal material-contact surface against abrasive concrete and aggregate. ZTA and 99% alumina ceramic grades are available to match the component design and operating duty.
A Smooth Bore Includes the Joints and Transitions
The internal passage includes the ceramic faces, joints between lining pieces, and connections between adjacent components. These details should be considered together when specifying a replacement.
A smooth ceramic surface is useful, but the finished assembly also needs suitable alignment and consistent bore dimensions.
|
Internal Detail |
Requirement to Define |
|---|---|
|
Ceramic Lining Joints |
Joint treatment and permissible height differences between adjacent pieces |
|
Pipe-End Transition |
Finished bore and lining termination at the connection |
|
Elbow or Reducer Interface |
Alignment with the adjoining component and the intended change in diameter |
If the project specifies a surface roughness or a maximum step at lining joints, include it on the drawing. This gives the supplier and buyer a common acceptance requirement.

Match the Finished Bore to the Existing Line
State the required internal diameter after ceramic installation. The outside diameter of the steel housing alone does not define the available conveying passage.
For replacement elbows, provide the angle, bend radius, and mounting dimensions. For reducers, show the finished inlet bore, outlet bore, and overall length.
The connection drawing should also identify the end-collar profile and matching coupling arrangement. Checking these details together helps avoid introducing an unintended restriction when the new component joins the existing pipeline.

These are reference properties for two different ceramic grades. The selected grade and required material documentation are confirmed for the order.
Ceramic material properties describe the lining component. Working pressure is specified separately for the completed pipe or fitting assembly and its connections.
Custom Manufacturing Details
The drawing should distinguish steel wall thickness, ceramic thickness, and finished internal diameter.
For an existing part, a sample or dimensioned drawing is preferred. Photographs of both ends and the internal lining are helpful when the original drawing is unavailable.
Inspection requirements can include assembly dimensions, lining condition, bore alignment, and end-connection geometry. Agree on these requirements before production so the finished component can be checked against the intended installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a smooth ceramic lining prevent every blockage?
Blockage also depends on concrete pumpability, aggregate grading, priming, pipeline arrangement, interruptions and cleaning. The internal surface and transitions are part of the overall system design.
Is 99% alumina always preferable to ZTA?
Selection should consider the complete material properties and the operating duty. Alumina content alone is insufficient for comparing an alumina grade with a zirconia-alumina composite.
Can a single reducer or elbow be customized?
Yes. Provide the component geometry and the dimensions of its adjoining parts. Include the required working pressure and installation position so the complete replacement can be reviewed.
Request a Ceramic Lined Pump Pipeline Quote
Send ELACERA your drawing or sample details, quantity, and required component type.
Include the finished bore, connection dimensions, working pressure, and concrete or aggregate information. If build-up repeatedly occurs near a joint or transition, add photographs showing that location.
For replacement selection by pipeline position, see our ceramic-lined concrete pump parts.
